UNILAG introduces electronic attendance registration to tackle truancy

The management of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has reportedly instituted an electronic attendance registration method during lectures.

In a video which has gone viral, some students of the institution were seen marking their attendance by inputting their fingerprints.

Some reactions show that some of the students are not too pleased with the development as their friends will no longer be able to write their names on the attendance sheet when they are absent.

One commenter noted that his business will henceforth suffer as he will no longer be able to stay away from classes.

Another one expressed his lack of faith in its sustainability. He wrote: “I give them one semester,e go flop”
