United Nigeria Airlines on Monday handed over social media personality Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkman, and comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, popularly called Mr Jollof, to airport security after a disturbance during the boarding of Flight UN0523 at Asaba International Airport, Delta State.
The incident, captured in a viral video, showed the two engaged in a physical altercation inside the aircraft.
In a statement, the airline’s Public Relations Officer, Chibuike Uloka, confirmed the incident and stated that the flight crew acted swiftly to de-escalate the situation.
Both individuals were deboarded to ensure the safety and comfort of other passengers and were handed over to airport security for further investigation.
The statement read: “United Nigeria Airlines confirms an altercation between two passengers, Martins Vincent Otse (VeryDarkman) and Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi (Mr Jollof), during the boarding of Flight UN0523 at Asaba International Airport on November 17, 2025. Our crew responded immediately and professionally, deboarding both passengers in line with global aviation safety protocols. They were subsequently handed over to airport security for further action.
“United Nigeria Airlines prioritizes safety and maintains a zero-tolerance policy for behavior that endangers the security or comfort of passengers or crew.”
The airline confirmed that the flight departed safely after all necessary procedures were completed, while the two individuals remained in the custody of authorities.
