Federal High Court, Abuja, has ruled that arrest and detention of PDP’s Olisa Metuh between Jan. and 5 Jan. 15 were lawful.

The court also refused Metuh’s prayer to restrain the EFCC from further arresting and detaining him.

Metuh was arrested and arraigned on charges of money laundering and other offences.

Justice Okon Abang, ruling on Metuh’s fundamental human rights enforcement suit, declared that the arrest of the PDP’s spokesperson was lawful since it was based “on reasonable suspicion” that he committed an offence.

The judge, who dismissed Metuh’s suit for lacking in merit, also ruled that his (Metuh’s) detention was backed by an order of a competent court.
