Niger Delta ‏Avengers cripple economy, blow multiple pipelines

The Niger Delta ‏Avengers, in their avowed determination to cripple the economy, have blown up several pipelines in the Niger Delta region.

This was disclosed in three separate tweets n their tweeter handle of early Sunday hours as follows:

1. “At 11:26pm on Saturday @NDAvengers blow up two NPDC major crude trunk lines close to Batan flowstation in Delta state.”

[NPDC – Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) Ltd is a fully-owned subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).]

2. “At 1:15am on Sunday @NDAvengers blow up two major Chevron Oil Wells. WELL 7 and WELL 8 close to Abiteye flow station in Delta state.]

[It could be recalled that Chevron has borne the brunt of the Avengers’ anger, especially when they embarked on repair of destroyed pipelines.

That was against the Avengers’ instructions that no repair be conducted while they are at it.]

The tweets ended with congratulatory message to their “soldiers”:

3. “ALL FIVE OPERATIONS WAS CARRIED OUT BY @NDAvengers STRIKE TEAM. WELL DONE SOLDIERS.”

Earlier, in a separate tweet, the militants claimed responsibility for the destruction of NNPC Crude Oil Trunk Line to Warri Refinery.

They tweeted:

“At 9:15pm on Friday the  @NDAvengers blow up Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Crude Oil Trunk Line to Warri Refinery.”

Last week the federal government had declared that it had obtained a ceasefire deal with the militants for one month.

However, in a sharp rebuttal, the militants struck the NNPC Pipeline in Oruk Anam Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom, denying any ceasefire.

They later tweeted:

“The NDA High Command never remember having any agreement on ceasefire with the Nigeria Government.”

As part of their demands for a successful negotiation, the Niger Delta ‏Avengers are calling for total restructuring of Nigeria as a country.

Following the recently-conducted United Kingdom Brexit referendum, the Avengers joined the calls for a referendum.

They said: “President Buhari Should call for a Referendum.

“President Buhari borrow a leaf from PM David Cameron, call for a referendum and let Nigerians decides like they did to vote you into Power.”

Also, part of their anger is the newly-formed North East Development Commission [NEDC].

They asked: “North East Development Commission, how will it be funded?”
