The Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has, on Wednesday, sacked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as the governor of the state.
The three-man panel of judges delivered the judgment via Zoom, declaring the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Yusuf Ganuwa, winner of the March 18 election.
Yusuf, the candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), was declared winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It could be recalled that News Band reported that because of fear of the unknown, the Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal had announced that the judgement will be transmitted virtually via Zoom.
The Tribunal, in keeping to the announcement, sat and read out the judgement at the Miller Road, Kano High Court complex via Zoom as the three-member panel of judges are not physically present in the courtroom.
Journalists, lawyers, party members, and many others were denied access to the court premises on Wednesday.
