There has been a fire outbreak in the Ondo State governor’s lodge  during meeting between Gov. Olusegun Mimiko and the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] National Chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.

Elombah.com gathered that a power surge caused the fire outbreak in the executive chamber of the Ondo State Governor’s Lodge on Wednesday, minutes after Senator Modu Sheriff visited the governor in Akure, the state capital.

The incident which reportedly destroyed some government property forced Mimiko, who is the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, to immediately leave the lodge with his guest for the government house.

Reporters and some PDP chieftains who were waiting for the PDP chairman and Mimiko to address them after their meeting discovered the fire when they noticed smoke billowing from a section of the building.

However, their efforts to put same out was unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Information in the state, Mr. Kayode Akinmade while confirming the incident, stated that the fire has already been put out.
