The United States has launched a new round of military strikes against Iran, targeting capabilities Washington says have been used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the U.S. military, the operation began at 6:00 a.m. ET (1000 GMT) on Wednesday.
“The strikes are designed to further degrade military capabilities Iranian forces have used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz,” the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a post on X.
