UTME result: Mmesoma admits scoring 249

Mmesoma Ejikeme, the Anambra State student who was accused of manually inflating her 2023 UTME result by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has admitted forging the result showing 362 score.

While speaking during an interview on Channels TV on Wednesday, Miss Ejikeme confirmed that she received an automated text message from JAMB indicating that her score was 249.

Recall that the examination body, through its spokesman Fabian Benjamin, on Sunday accused the student of forging her result, but the teenager insisted that her score was 362.

On Tuesday, the board reaffirmed its position that the result being paraded by the candidate was “patently fake”, noting that her real score is 249.

The board subsequently withdrew her result and barred her from writing the examination for the next three years.

Speaking during the interview, Ms Ejikeme said the three-year ban slammed on her is unfair.

She said: “It’s not my fault that I printed my result like that, and they said that I forged my result. It’s not my fault. So, them banning it is not fair.”

Responding to the claim that the feedback from JAMB showed her score as 249, the candidate agreed.

“Yes. After all said and done, I now saw that I got 249. I sent them a text message there to know what really happened—the JAMB Support System. If they go to their system, they will see it there,” she added.
