VeryDarkMan tenders apology for wearing police uniform

Controversial social media activist Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, has apologized to the Nigeria Police Force after appearing on a police uniform in a viral video.

The apology is coming after police authorities last week, denounced his unauthorized use of the uniform and announced they had launched an investigation into the matter.

In the said video, VeryDarkMan appeared in a police uniform and jokingly introduced himself as a “Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) of the Online Division.”

However, following public criticism that trailed his action, the VeryDarkMan on Thursday in a video, expressed regret for his action.

He further urged Nigerians to obtain proper authorization before wearing police uniforms to avoid potential misunderstandings or legal consequences.

He said, “Back from the police station where I was interrogated based on the post I made wearing a costume that the police claim is similar to theirs.

“I didn’t intend to impersonate the police in anyway and I tender my unreserved apologies to the Nigeria police force and the office of the Inspector General of Police.

“And also I will like to use this medium to tell the general public to always seek permission from the police or other law enforcement agencies before using anything that might look like their uniform.
