Heavily armed herdsmen have reportedly sneaked in to Nyiev council ward in Mbawa District of Makurdi, the Benue State capital, and killed some 40 people, including men, women and children.

According to the video, the assailants attacked unprovoked in the middle of the night and massacred the unsuspecting residents.

The cameraman explained that the residents had fled their homes due to incessant attacks from the herdsmen and taken refuge in a school, a make-shift home for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

Regardless, the herdsmen stormed the school and left behind a tale of sorrows, tears and blood.
