VIDEO: Justice Has Come — Sunday Igboho Rejoices as Buhari Dies at 82

Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has reacted to the death of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a viral video posted online on Sunday, Igboho called the late president a “criminal” and thanked God for preserving his own life.
Igboho referenced the July 1, 2021 raid on his Ibadan home by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian military.
According to him, Buhari ordered the midnight operation to silence his secessionist movement.
Speaking in Yoruba and Pidgin, Igboho said:
“My people, Buhari don die. See life. The same man that sent DSS and soldiers to kill me at night in 2021 is now gone. I’m alive. I thank God.”
He added that the failed assassination attempt was part of a broader government crackdown on activists calling for Yoruba self-determination.
Igboho, who has faced arrest and detention in Benin Republic since the raid, said his survival proves that divine justice prevails.
Although Buhari’s death was confirmed hours earlier, the video quickly went viral across social media, sparking mixed reactions.
While some sympathized with Igboho’s pain, others condemned his celebratory tone.
Igboho’s comments come amid renewed scrutiny of Buhari’s legacy, especially regarding his human rights record and approach to dissent.
As of press time, the Nigerian government has not responded to Igboho’s statements.
