The General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has tendered a heartfelt apology to his members over his false teaching on tithing.
This is coming after the cleric had said in one of his messages that anybody who does not pay tithe will not make heaven.
Tithe is a biblical instruction, which preaches giving out 10 per cent of one’s earnings to the church.
However, it has been a subject of debate over overtime with arguments on whether it is mandatory to pay tithes or otherwise.
But in a video obtained by Newsband Newspaper, Adeboye was heard apologizing to his members that he was sorry for telling them that those who don’t pay their tithe won’t make heaven.
He said, “I am sorry for saying that if you don’t pay tithe you won’t go to heaven. That is not in the Bible. What the Bible says is, follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man will make heaven.”
“It is possible to be right and wrong at the same time. I will prove it to you. For years, we taught that light travels in a straight line. Later we say it travels in waves.”
