Nollywood actress Kehinde Bankole has raised alarm over the worsening insecurity across Nigeria, urging authorities to take immediate and decisive steps to protect lives and restore public confidence.
In a recent Instagram post, the actress known for her portrayal of Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti in a biographical film expressed deep concern about the growing fear among citizens. She emphasized that regardless of differing opinions about the causes or narratives surrounding recent incidents, the priority must remain the safety of Nigerians.
Bankole called on key institutions, including the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Presidency, the Department of State Services, and the Ministry of Defence, to strengthen collaboration and respond more effectively to the crisis.
According to her, Nigerians are increasingly frustrated with repeated messages of sympathy following tragic events, noting that what citizens truly want are visible results and lasting solutions.
She further stressed that insecurity must not be normalized, warning that families and children are being forced to live in constant fear. The actress urged all relevant security agencies to be fully activated and to act with urgency and coordination to address the situation.
Her remarks add to the growing number of voices calling for stronger, more proactive measures to tackle insecurity and ensure the safety of lives and property across the nation.
