Sharon Ademefun, the sister of Nigerian music star Davido, has revealed one of the reasons she believes people may not be able to maintain a friendship with her.

Speaking during an interview, Sharon, who serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Davido Music Worldwide, said she would struggle to be friends with someone who is excessively obsessed with her famous brother.

“We can’t be friends if you’re too much of a Davido fan,” she said.

The comment has attracted attention from fans of the singer, particularly because Sharon herself has a close relationship with Davido and plays an important role in his professional affairs.

Her statement suggests that while she understands and appreciates her brother’s enormous fan base, she prefers people who are able to relate to her as an individual rather than allowing their admiration for Davido to dominate the friendship.

Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, is one of Nigeria’s most internationally recognised entertainers and has maintained a huge following across Africa and beyond.

Because of his fame, members of his family regularly attract attention from fans who want to get closer to the singer or learn more about his personal life.

Sharon has previously spoken openly about her relationship with Davido, including her role in helping him manage his finances. She revealed that the siblings would hold regular financial meetings to review his spending, sometimes prompting her to tell him to stop buying more luxury cars.

Her latest comment has now offered another glimpse into what it is like to have one of Nigeria’s biggest music stars as a sibling.

Social media users have since reacted to her statement, with some joking that being a Davido superfan could apparently make it difficult to pass Sharon’s friendship test.

Others pointed out that there is a difference between appreciating an artist’s music and becoming so invested in the celebrity that it affects personal relationships.

For Sharon, the issue appears to be about maintaining boundaries and ensuring that friendships are based on genuine personal connections rather than access to a famous family member.
