The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has denied calling for the boycott of Anambra State gubernatorial election coming on November 6, 2021.
IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful mad e the clarification in a statement issued on Friday and made available to News.band.
Comrade Emma stated:
“The global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our great and indefatigable leader Mazi Nnamdi KanuU wish to clarify that contrary to speculations and blackmail, IPOB has never made any official statement or called for the boycott of Anambra State gubernatorial election coming on 6th of November 2021. It will therefore be wrong for people to speculate or peddle falsehood against us when there is no basis for such.
“For the sake of clarity, what we said was that the entire Biafra land would be locked down from November 5 to November 10, 2021 if by November 4 the federal government fails to release our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally.
“Our position has nothing to do with Anambra election. All we need is the release of our leader who committed no crime to be held perpetually in custody.
“We have gathered through intelligence the plot by Nigeria Government to keep our leader in detention perpetually through frivolous court adjournments.
“Politicians must leave IPOB out of their predicaments. They should stop dragging IPOB into their election.
“We knew their evil plans when they were killing their fellow politicians and blaming it on IPOB. They should leave us alone.
“Using social media to link IPOB to Anambra election shows most of them are not informed about plots by Nigeria Government and her security operatives to hijack this election and give it to whom they feel to perfect establishment of Ruga in Anambra State.
“But that won’t work for them because IPOB is ahead of their game plan.
“We urge media houses to be objective in their reportage and cross check their facts. IPOB has never at any time called for boycott of Anambra election. Media houses should stop publishing lies against us.”
Nigerian government’s clandestine plan to eliminate Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyers and other Biafrans
In another development, IPOB put the whole world on notice about an alleged “wicked plot by the frustrated Government of Nigeria to secretly eliminate our resilient lawyers, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor; and Barrister Aloy Ejimakor over their committed efforts in the defense of our leader who was renditioned from Kenya”.
Speaking on the allegation, the IPOB spokesman said:
“The Nigeria Government is not happy with the expertise and professional prowess of these veteran lawyers and other members of the legal team to deflate the fabricated charges against our leader, hence their plot to eliminate them.
“The intelligence report at our disposal also indicate that this covert plan extend to the elimination of Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu, Bright Chimezie Ishinwa, Chidiebere Onwudiwe, David Nwawuisi as well as several State Coordinators are in their elimination list handed down by the Nigerian government to its Security agencies.
“The Nigerian government intends to carry out this targeted elimination through the security personnel deployed in South East under the guise of Operation Golden Dawn to do the dirty job.
“The compromised security agents have decided to eliminate Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyers once they step into any part of South East.
“We want to place it on record that these lawyers have committed but simply carrying out their profession as lawyers.
“The world should hold Nigeria Government responsible should anything happen to our lawyers and any of those listed above.
“This will not be the first time such evil plot would be hatched against them as Ejiofor has severally escaped assassination attempt on his life by this same Nigerian security operatives evidence of which are in the public domain.
“His attackers have twice set his home on fire after killing so many people in his house.
“The world must take note and pay attention to the atrocities being committed in Biafra land by the Nigerian government.
“South East remains our ancestral home and we cannot run away because we committed no sacrilege in our land.
“Anybody planning to kill us will be battling with the spirit of our ancestors and the spirit that own Biafra land.
“Those detained with our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in 2017 from Abuja prison must be very careful, at alert and conscious of their environment and movement now because Nigeria government is planning to eliminate them and other innocent Biafran youths for just no cause.
“IPOB is bringing the evil plot of the Nigerian government to the attention of the international community.”
