The proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) has said that it wrote officially to the Southeast and South south governors on the 15th of May 2020 before the establishment of Eastern Security Network.
According to IPOB’s lawyer, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, the outlawed organization went lone-wolf after the purported letter was never replied by the governors
He said, “They never replied to this Letter, which was partly why the IPOB went lone-wolf in forming the Eastern Security Network, only for the same SE Govs (who had ignored this Letter) to now be saying that they intend to form a counterpart regional security.”
Ejimakor said he decided to publish the letter in the public interest.
However, Nnamdi Kanu has been under intense fire after he floated the security network. Many political observers have said ESN could be another Bokoharam in the making if the government doesn’t take a decisive action against it.
Although, Kanu said the security network was only formed to tackle the rising insecurity in the region.
