What is Ex-Gov Kayode Fayemi afraid of? — Fayose’s Aide

That question was posed by the Media Advisor to Governor Ayodele Fayose, Mr. Lere Olayinka with respect to the reaction of former Ekiti State governor, Mr. John Kayode Fayemi to the Ekiti State Judicial Commission of Enquiry.

Reacting to the Panel of Enquiry recently inaugurated by Governor Fayose to probe Fayemi’s administration for fraud and embezzlement, the embattled ex-governor ran to Ado-Ekiti High Court asking the court to stop the Enquiry.

Consequently, Mr. Olayinka threw the poser: “What is Fayemi afraid of?

“Why can’t he just use the opportunity to clear the air on allegations of fraud made against him?”

He recalled that president Muhammadu Buhari had towed a similar thread when a Nigerian lawyer had dragged him to court to produce his O’ Level certificate.

Instead of towing the easy way out and produce his certificate, he had hired thirteen Senior Advocates of Nigeria [SANs] to intimidate both the lawyer and presiding judge and muzzle the case.

Nigerians from various walks of life found themselves asking: “Which is easier, to produce a certificate and walk out with head held high, or, to hire thirteen SANs to drag the case to eternity?”

Mr. Olayinka saluted former Osun State governor, Omooba Olokuku of Okuku, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola who towed the easy way out when faced with a similar challenge.

When he was accused of stealing and Governor Rauf Aregbesola set up a panel to probe him, Oyinlola appeared before the panel to clear his name.

He walked away, leaving no dust behind.

“May be Dr John Kayode Fayemi does not have any defence against his alleged looting of Ekiti State treasury,” he mused.

“A thief must be afraid of being asked questions, nah.

“And they will tell Nigerians they are fighting corruption.

“Like President, like Minister,” he concluded.
