Yahaya Bello is hiding in Matawalle’s home in Niger Republic — Jackson Udeh

The publisher of Point-Blank Newspaper, Mr Jackson Udeh has said the wanted former Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello is currently hiding in the home of Minister of State Defense, Mohammed Bello Matawalle in Niger Republic.

Recall that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had on April 18, 2024, declared Bello wanted in connection with an alleged case of money laundering to the tune of N80,246,470,089.88.

Mr Bello and three other suspects, Ali Bello, Dauda Suliman, and Abdulsalam Hudu, were to be arraigned before Justice Emeka Nwite on 19 counts related to money laundering but the inability of the commission to arrest him stalled the arraignment.

The anti-graft agency has continued a manhunt for Bello, who had refused to surrender himself after evading arrest.

Meanwhile, Udeh who was a former presidential spokesman in a post on his official X handle alleged that Matawalle has properties and investments in Niger Republic from proceeds from his years of looting of Zamfara State and his current involvements in oil bunkering, using officials of the Nigerian Navy.

The property is where Yahaya Bello is currently taking refuge.

He also accused Yahaya Bello of being neck deep in the hunger protests which turned chaotic in the Northern region.

The post reads, “I DARE YAHAHA BELLO TO COME OUT OF HIDING AND FACE ME, FACE INVESTIGATION!
No amount of name calling or threat to my life would stop me from exposing the crooked Yahaya Bello, the on-the-run former Governor of Kogi State, who looted the state of over N80billion.

“Yahaya Bello is in Niamey, Niger Republic, hiding in the home of Nigeria’s Minister of State, Defense, Mohammed Bello Matawalle. Matawalle has properties and investments in Niger Republic from proceeds from his years of looting of Zamfara State and his current involvements in oil bunkering, using officials of the Nigerian Navy.

“Yahaya Bello is neck deep in the protest turned looting in Northern Nigeria and the Russian flags that has flooded that part of country.
If Yahaya Bello says it’s a lie, let him come out of hiding. I dare him to come out.

“All the morons he has hired to issue Press Statements on his behalf are all bunch of hungry idiots.

“When the satellite images of Yahaya Bello being smuggled out of Nigeria is released, you all will bury your heads in shame.”
