Yoruba Nation: Sunday Igboho submits petition to UK PM

Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, has taken his agitation for an independent Yoruba nation to 10 Downing Street, the office of the British Prime Minister in London.

Newsband Newspaper understand that Igboho on Saturday, submitted a petition to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Mr Keir Starmer to consider the secessionist movement in Nigeria.

The separatist movement, described the content of the petition as confidential, but sources claimed it revolved around the “Yoruba Nation agitation.”

The group is calling on the UK authorities to intervene in their quest for a separate nation predominantly owned by the indigenous people of Yoruba.

Meanwhile, this comes after Yoruba historian Banji Akintoye accused the Nigerian government of attempting to persuade Igboho to abandon the secessionist movement, citing a failed attempt by former Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Tukur Buratai to bribe Igboho with billions of naira to renounce his cause while in prison.
