Senator Ali Ndume has expressed frustration over the difficulty in accessing President Bola Tinubu, alleging that the administration is dominated by corrupt individuals who demand bribes for meetings.
He said this during an interview on Arise Television on Tuesday.
Ndume, representing Borno North Senatorial District, criticized the government’s handling of diplomatic issues, particularly with the US, and lamented the lack of ambassadors and a UN representative.
Ndume stated that it’s nearly impossible to meet President Tinubu without bribing officials, saying, “If you want to see the president, they will ask you, ‘how much?'”.
He described the administration as being run by “kakistocrats” and “kleptocrats” more interested in personal gain than national service.
Ndume questioned the government’s delayed response to US Congressional actions and criticized the lack of coordination in foreign policy, highlighting the absence of ambassadors.
He emphasized the need for prompt action to address diplomatic challenges and utilize experienced diplomats to resolve issues.
Ndume’s comments have sparked debate about governance and accountability in Nigeria’s administration.
