Supporters of the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, generally referred to as Obidients, have slammed Senator Ned Nwoko, calling him a thief for allegedly stealing Peter Obi’s idea on participation of Nigerians in diaspora in electoral processes in Nigeria.
Senator Nwoko had gloated over the bill on his Twitter handle, @Prince_NedNwoko, on Monday after plenary,
In a series of tweets, he had tweeted:
“I am seeking an Amendment to the Constitution that will enable Nigerians in Diaspora to participate in Electoral Processes in Nigeria.
“To be able to vote and be voted for; To have Three permanent seats allocated to them in both chambers one each for America, Asia and Europe.
“The Nigerian diaspora, comprised of millions of Nigerians living abroad, forms a vital and dynamic part of our Nation’s Global Community.
“These individuals maintain deep ties to their homeland and possess a wealth of knowledge, experience and resources that can contribute significantly to Nigeria’s growth and development.
“In recognizing the importance of their engagement, it is imperative to explore avenues for their active participation in our electoral processes.
“This seeks to introduce necessary amendments to the Nigerian Constitution, granting Nigerians in the Diaspora the right to vote; the ability to be voted for, and the establishment of dedicated representation in the legislative chambers.
“By fostering inclusive democracy, we can harness the diverse perspectives and talents of our diaspora, fostering a stronger and more representative Nigeria. Four permanent seats. (Africa inclusive).
Obidients react
Reacting, Obidients called Senator Ned Nwoko a “thief” for stealing a brainchild of their principal, insisting that the idea was originally Obi’s.

“So na all of una dey even steal the man’s idea now!!! peter obi was the only candidate that mentioned this during his campaign! you guys stole his mandate and now stealing his ideas to persuade the people that voted for him!
“There is nothing you guys can do to persuade the people of Nigeria as long as none of you comes clean to accept the disaster that happened during this last election and condemn the process that brought the interim administration.”
