Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet crashed on Saturday near Karabonde, a community in the Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.

According to early information, both pilots on board survived the crash.

The incident was first revealed by Lapai TV, a digital television station based in Niger State, which posted a brief update and accompanying video on its official Facebook page.

The outlet reported that the aircraft went down near Karabonde but did not provide additional details on the pilots’ conditions or what might have caused the crash.

“So far, two Nigerian Air Force pilots are believed to have survived the crash of an Alpha Jet near Karabonde, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State,” the media platform stated.

As of the time of reporting, the Nigerian Air Force has not issued an official statement confirming the crash, its cause, or the operational circumstances surrounding the aircraft.
