A group, under the auspices of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), known as PDP Vanguard has demanded the former governor of Anambra State and the party’s vice presidential candidate in the 2019 presidential election, Mr. Peter Obi, as the party flag bearer for the upcoming 2023 presidential election.
PDP Vanguard made the demand on its Twitter post on Tuesday.
PDP Vanguard tweeted with a hashtag #Obi2023:
“Peter Obi has a practical understanding of how modern economy works and operates, endowed with an extraordinary ability to bend people and time to his will, political philosopher, Young, Vibrant, competent, and above all tested and trusted. On his mandate we Stand.”

The group, in another tweet, compared Peter Obi with the governor of Sokoto State, Hon. Waziri Tambuwal, who recently declared his intention to contest the presidential election.
PDP Vanguard tweeted:
“Tambuwal is an astute lawyer, legendary lawmaker, and has a vast experience on how l executive arms of govt operates, however, he’s the least understanding of how modern economy works compare to Obi, Atiku and Saraki.”
It noted, however, in a special note that Tambuwal is 100 million edge ahead of self-styled national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Meanwhile, in another development, the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), has described Peter Obi’s statement over his presidential ambition during the weekend, as very dissatisfactory and unacceptable.
The former governor had, over the weekend, reportedly said he could only declare for President “if PDP cedes their Presidential tickets to Southern Nigeria or make it open for every region.”
Reacting to the statement, OYC gave seven days ultimatum to Peter Obi to declare for president against all odds.
In January, a tweep had threatened to drag him to court if he fails to declare.
