Trump Says Two US Airmen Rescued in Iranian Territory

US President Donald Trump has announced that American forces have successfully rescued a second airman who was downed in Iran, describing the mission as one of the most daring search-and-rescue operations in US history.

According to Trump, the airman was located deep behind enemy lines in mountainous terrain and had sustained injuries but is expected to recover.

The rescue follows an earlier operation in which another pilot was safely recovered, though officials delayed confirmation to avoid jeopardising the second mission.

The development comes amid intensifying hostilities across the Middle East.

Iran has continued missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and Kuwait, while maintaining control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz a key global energy corridor.

Tensions have escalated further following Trump’s renewed ultimatum, giving Iran 48 hours to reach a deal or face severe military consequences.

Iranian military officials have dismissed the warning, describing it as reckless and vowing a strong response.

The conflict has increasingly targeted economic and energy infrastructure on both sides.

Recent strikes in Iran reportedly hit industrial facilities, while retaliatory attacks have impacted key sites in Gulf nations, raising fears of broader disruption to global oil supplies.

Meanwhile, concerns are mounting over the safety of nuclear facilities, particularly near the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, after reports of nearby strikes triggered international alarm.

Although no radiation leaks have been confirmed, global watchdogs have expressed deep concern over the risks.

As the conflict spreads, analysts warn that continued escalation could have far-reaching consequences for regional stability and the global economy.
