The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ikenga Ugochinyere, as the winner of the Ideato North and South constituency election.
INEC returning officer, Onwuachu Chinyere, made the declaration on Sunday at the collation centre in the state.
According to INEC returning officer, Ugochinyere polled 13,026 votes to defeat Pascal Obi, candidate of the Labour Party (LP) who secured 5696 votes.
The INEC officer also announced that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chika Abazu, came third after polling 2368.

He said: “Having satisfied the requirement of the law, he is hereby declared winner, and hereby returned elected.”
