2027: Defence Minister Musa joins Tinubu’s campaign team

Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (retd.), has joined President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 campaign team after being appointed Secretary I of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.

Musa made the commitment in a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media, Leah Katung-Babatunde, following his appointment.

The minister thanked President Tinubu and the APC leadership for the confidence reposed in him, describing the appointment as a call to higher service.

He pledged to carry out his responsibilities with diligence, focus and commitment, assuring the party’s leadership, stakeholders and supporters of his dedication to the assignment.

Musa, however, stressed that his constitutional duty as Minister of Defence remained unchanged.

He said safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protecting the lives and property of Nigerians would continue to be his primary mandate.

His appointment comes as the APC begins preparations for the 2027 general election, with President Tinubu expected to seek another term in office.
