Suspected members of the Lakurawa terror group have reportedly killed three Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) officers during an attack on the Bakin Ruwa checkpoint near the Maje border in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The attack, which occurred on Thursday night, also saw the assailants torch the immigration post and a nearby mosque.
A video circulating on social media shows the mosque engulfed in flames, with the three officers caught in the fire.
While the Kebbi State command of the NIS has not yet released an official statement, multiple officers in the state have confirmed the tragic incident and the deaths of their colleagues at the checkpoint.
