Diaspora Digital Media understands that incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is leading in the Ondo governorship election, having won all 18 local government areas.

This puts him in a strong position to be declared the winner.

According to reports, Aiyedatiwa’s party is ahead in key areas such as Akure South, Akure North, Ondo West, Ondo East, Ile oluji, Ifedore, and Owo Local Government Areas.

The election was largely peaceful, but there were incidents of violence and vote buying in some areas.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Agboola Ajayi, alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) compromised its stance during the election.

However, Aiyedatiwa expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election, praising INEC for its transparency.
