The soldiers who were drafted under Operation Lafiya Dole, a counterinsurgency squad in the North-East, reportedly retreated from an attack near Damboa, Borno State, earlier this month.

The incident according to Sahara Reporters resulted in the deaths of over 10 soldiers.

Though, the Defense Headquarters is yet to officially confirm the attack or acknowledge any casualties.
