Over eighty five (85) youth groups operating in Imo state have paid solidarity visit to the commissioner representing Imo state in the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC.
The groups ably represented by their leaders stormed the office of Hon Dr Kyrian Chidiebere Uchegbu, the Federal Commissioner representing Imo State in NDDC Board along Owerri PortHacourt road to register their unalloyed support and confidence in his leadership.
This was contained in a press statement of February 6th 2025 from the office of NDDC representative.
According to the release, the leader of the delegation, Comrade Charles Oringo , the Imo State chairman of Niger Delta Youths Movementt and Imo State branch of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo youth said they were at the office of the commissioner of Police, Imo State earlier today to established themselves as the functioning and authentic Youth bodies in the state.
Oringo informed the commissioner of Police that they were the people who received the NDDC’s Christmas largesse in 2023 and 2024 as they are not faceless as claimed by Eric Uwakwe and Modestus Nwamkpa.
“Any Youths body in Imo State whose leader is not found in our mist, such group is fake and does not exist.
“They issued stern warning to all the detractors of Hon Dr Kyrian Uchegbu to steer clear from him to enable him deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Imo State.
“The group called on the SA to the Governor of Imo State on Youths Mobilization, Hon Eric Uwakwe and the publisher of Bigtruth NewsPapers, Mr Modestus Nwamkpa to concentrate on their appointment and business, and stop fanning the embers of crisis by feeding the public with falsehood.
“The Youths coordinators went on to emphasized that only the Youth Groups who were thoroughly verified and confirmed by the Commission were eligible for the payments by NDDC’s headquarters during yuletide celebration.
“Hon Dr Kyrian Chidiebere Uchegbu neither certify any group as youth body in Imo State nor did he pay any of them, lest anyone claims he’s biased in his judgement.
“Any further attribution of the groups as faceless by the duo of Eric Uwakwe and Modestus Nwamkpa and cohorts will meet severe legal actions.
“The Youths urged Hon Uchegbu to go ahead in doing what the Almighty God had prepared him for, as they are with him always.
“We use this opportunity to present our position paper of unalloyed support for the government of His Excellency Dist Sen Hope Uzodmma and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”, the statement read.
