Inaugurates new Council of Chiefs
The traditional ruler of Ogidi in Anambra State, His Majesty, Igwe Pharm. Alex Onyido has hailed the Federal Government of Nigeria as well as the Anambra State government and citizens for sustaining the war against Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.
Igwe Onyido noted that the sustained war has lead to the prevention of the spread and impressive number of recovery from confirmed cases.
The Igwe spoke at his palace when he inaugurated a new set of Councillors into his cabinet as members of Council of Chiefs in Ogidi Kingdom.
He said he is impressed with the ceaseless efforts being made by the Federal and State Governments.
He also expressed satisfaction to the contributions of well-meaning individuals and groups in terms of proving palliatives measures to cushion the effect of economic hardship following the negative impact of Coronavirus pandemic.

He specifically thanked the indigenes of Ogidi who provided palliatives for the government of Anambra State and other communities across Anambra as well as at home in Ogidi.
He added that the palace is highly appreciative and proud of those from Ogidi that deemed it right enough to provide palliatives to the poor and the needy to cushion the effect of lockdown.
The ruler charged the new Council of Chiefs on commitments to the services of the palace telling them to ensure that they live up to the expectations of all the quarters they are representing in the palace.
He told the Councilors that they were selected by their quarters to serve in the place based in their credibility and track record.
He noted that it is left for them to justify the trust reposed on them through diligent and dedicated commitments to the services of the palace.
Earlier on, the President General of Ogidi town union Chief Chuka Onubogu released the list of the Councilors from the four quarters of Ogidi namely Akanano, Uru, Ezinkwo and Ikenga.
Chief Onubogu told them to uphold the peaceful and progressive Ogidi that the Igwe has evolved informing them that they are the eyes of His Majesty.
He said that they should endeavor to be decent and truthful and avoid any act of corruption, immoral conduct and indiscipline capable to bring dent to the image of His Majesty.
The inauguration was held following the expiration of former Cabinet Chiefs whose tenure has elapsed after a three year tenure.
