Boko Haram shows off tank, ammunitions it claimed to seize in Sambisa

The Abubakar Shekau-led Boko Haram terrorists faction in Sambisa Forest in Borno State, on Saturday, released a video showing off a battle tank, shells and thousands of ammunition the group claimed it captured from the Nigeria Army in Sambisa Forest, Borno State.

A member of the group appeared in the 4.15 minutes video speaking on the battle between the insurgents and the Nigerian Army in the dreaded Sambisa forest on Friday, according to a report by Humangle.

According to the report, a Vickers Mk.3 Eagle battle tank, over a dozen tank shells and thousands of .50 calibre ammunition were showcased by the insurgents.

Nigerian troops have been conducting an offensive against Boko Haram faction in Sambisa, the epicentre of insurgency in Northeast Nigeria.

The latest development happened shortly after Nigerian Army launched Operation Tura Takai Bango targeting ISWAP positions in the Alagarno forest – Timbuktu triangle axis.

The Boko Haram, which kicked off since 2009, and its later splinter faction Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) have killed over 30,000 persons and displacement some 2.5 million people in Nigeria and beyond.
