Inter-States Joint Dev’t Projects’ll grow regional economy —Azubogu

Engr Chris Azubogu, the Anambra State Governorship aspirant under the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 6 election, on Monday said that Inter-States Joint Development Projects is a sire way to grow South East regional economy.

Engr Azubogu, member of House of Representatives representing Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, said  that all States should explore inter-governmental relations window for State-State/State-Federal government joint projects as a way of bridging the infrastructure gap within the region.

Azubogu spoke after attending the South East Zonal PDP stakeholders meeting held at Enugu State Government House, Enugu, saying that States should explore more economic development partnerships between each other.

“States in the South East should be encouraged to embark on joint development projects that will advance the economy of the region. I want to see even inter-regional joint projects among States, even across different geopolitical zones.”

According to the Anambra State PDP Governorship aspirant, “we have to explore Intergovernmental Relations on the issue of development through Joint States and Federal government projects/programmes that will advance the economy. For example, I want to see Anambra State partnering with the entire South East States and other neighboring States like Kogi, Rivers and Delta on issues of development projects.”

The Enugu meeting, which Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State hosted, had PDP leaders from the five States of the South East zone in attendance.
