Wizkid wins first Grammy Award

Nigeria’s popular artist, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, otherwise known as Wizkid, has won his first-ever Grammy Award in the Best Music Video category.

Wizkid’s feat, however, through a collaborative effort with Beyonce from the song ‘Brown Skin Girl’, one of the major hits of the 2019 album, The Lion King.

The song also featured Beyonce’s first child, Blue Ivy Carter.

Wizkid made the record at the premiere of the 2021 edition of the Grammy Awards in Santa Monica.

Grammy tweeted on its official Twitter account: “Congrats Best Music Video winner – ‘BROWN SKIN GIRL’ @Beyonce #BlueIvy @wizkidayo”.

ALso on the winning list was Burna Boy with his album “Twice as tall”.
