Motorists plying interstate road linking Lagos with Sagamu, a town in Ogun, south west Nigeria, will face traffic redirection from Monday, according to release federal government’s work ministry.

Central government in the West African country is in charge of interstate link roads.

The Lagos-Sagamu road through the Long Bridge has since been due for repairs.

Explaining to the motoring public, the Federal Ministry of Works said that the repair works is for the damaged Expansion Joints on the Long Bridge.

“It will commence by Monday 4, March 2024, simultaneously on both bounds of the Bridge.

“Consequently, traffic leaving and entering Lagos through the Long Bridge will be narrowed to two lanes on both sides of the Bridge to enable the contractor handling the repair works to commence works on the other two lanes of the carriageways,” government explained.

The ministry also advised users to be patient and adhere to lane discipline on both approaches to the Long Bridge.
