Breaking: Super Eagles draw with Cape Verde, book World Cup play-off spot

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have booked a play-off spot after playing out a 1-1 draw with Cape Verde at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles went into the half time break level with Cape Verde.

Victor Osimhen gave Nigeria the lead in the 1st minute, but the visitors equalized in the 6th minute.

Nigeria had chances to increase the lead, but would want to avoid the kind of upset to Central African Republic last month.

Making of Champions tweeted:

“It was not pretty, but the Super Eagles got the job done, qualifying for the last round of the 2022 FIFA #WCQ drawing against Cape Verde to finish top of Group C with 13pts. Big relief for Nigeria!”
