Elombah.com learnt that Mr. Peter Obi arrived Enugu from Lagos this morning.

He had just one single reason for the trip: to commiserate with the members of Anambra State House of Assembly on the death of their member, Hon. Francis Tochukwu Mmegbuanaeze, who represented Idemili North Constituency.

According to Obi’s media aide, Mr Valentine Obienyem, “On arrival, we drove straight to the office of Arc Callistus Ilozumba in Enugu, from where Mr. Obi called the House and fixed 12noon for the condolence visit.

“Shortly after that, why we were already at Oji River we got the information from the House that Mr. Obi would not be received after all.

“I recall the burial of Chief Ugo Agballa’s father, during which we went to Enugu’s State House of Assembly on a similar mission.

“The momemt HE entered the House, the entire place was electrified that the House forgot the mourning of Ugo’s father momentarily to accord due respect to him.

“The House was visibly happy for Obi’s gesture, which they described as thoughtful and noble.

“I do not know how to define the House’s action, this morning. One is still scratching one’s head in perplexity over what really informed such action directed at a man that re-built the legislative building after the mayhem of 2004 and tarred the road to the place as well as other gestures that have remained unparalleled.

“In spite HE’s aversion to this being publicized, I feel differently.

“It is good for all of us to observe events such as this as they instruct us on the intoxicating effect of earthly and fleeting power for us to advise ourselves appropriately.”
