Governor Lalong Declares 3-Day Mourning For Galadima

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau, has declared three days of mourning in honour of Mr Samuel Galadima, Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, who died on Wednesday during morning exercise.

Mr Rufus Bature, Secretary to Government of Plateau, announced this in a statement on Wednesday.

“Lalong on behalf of the Government of Plateau with sincere sense of loss, announce the sudden death of Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Samuel Galadima.

“The governor has declared three days of mourning beginning from today, Wednesday the 22nd to Friday the 24th of March.

“Galadima passed on to glory this morning, Wednesday, 22nd March, 2017 at the age of 64,” the statement said.

The late Galadima was part of the state Executive Council members participating in the regular forth-nightly physical exercise at the Jos Township Stadium.

He slumped and was rushed to the Plateau Specialist Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

The governor according to the statement has also suspended all his public functions in keeping with the mourning mood of the state.

He enjoined all citizens of Plateau to share in the burden of the loss; while praying to God to grant the family and indeed the entire people of the state the fortitude to bear the loss.
