Falcons Thrash Thailand In Cyprus Women’s Cup [Updated]

The Super Falcons of Nigeria on Wednesday took on France-bound Thailand in the seventh place match of the Cyprus Women’s Cup at the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium in Larnaca, Cyprus.

The match, which was played in Tassos Markou Stadium, saw the Falcons soar to greater height with a 3-0 win over their Thai counterparts.

The Falcons opened the lead with a 23rd goal from Asisat Oshoala through Francisca Ordega assist.

Five minutes later, Chinaza Uchendu set up Onome Ebi to score the second goal giving Falcons a 2-0 lead  against Thailand.

A 74th goal by Anam Imo sealed the win for Super Falcons courtesy of Asisat Oshoala’s assist.

Falcons continued the search for their fourth but the Asians did well defensively to avoid conceding more.

Nigeria  ended their debut  Cyprus Women’s Cup  campaign on a winning note at the Tasos Markos Stadium with the 3-0 win.

The Super Falcons had finished third in Group C with three points from three games to take on Thailand in the seventh-place final.

Earlier, they fell 0-1 to Begium and 1-4 to Austria but grabbed a 4-3 win against Slovakia.
