Senator Akpan dumps PDP, as Senator Ubah welcomes him into YPP

The Senator currently representing Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District, Senator Bassey Albert Akpan has dumped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the Young Progressives Party (YPP).

Senator Albert Akpan was officially welcomed into the Young Progressives Party by the party’s National Leader, Senator (Dr.) Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, on Monday.

Speaking at the event, the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District expressed great pleasure to welcome his Distinguished colleague into the party’s fold.

He remarked that YPP is a party with an unblemished record and principle of participatory democracy, social justice and equal opportunities for all citizens.

Senator Ubah said that his entry into the party is a significant milestone in the party’s quest to rebuild and strengthen YPP ahead of the 2023 general elections and beyond.

He expressed hope that the move by Senator Akpan to join the party will yield tremendous results.

Ubah said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome my Distinguished colleague and Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District; Sen. Bassey Albert Akpan into the fold of the Young Progressives Party (YPP).

“Having worked closely and seamlessly with you as your Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), I have an unflinching conviction that your joining the party will yield tremendous results.
