World Athletics meet: Tobi Amusan sets new world 100m Hurdles record, wins gold

Reigning African track and field champion, Tobi Amusan, has set a new world record for the 100m Hurdles in the final of the World Athletics Championships holding in Oregon, United States.

Tobi Amusan destroyed the world 100m Hurdles record in 12.062 seconds, beating her own record in the semifinals of 12.12 seconds.

Confirming the development, World Athletics, on its Twitter handle @WorldAthletics, tweeted:

She achieved the earlier feat in the ongoing World Athletics Championships semifinal.

She became the first Nigerian athlete in history to ever set a World Record in any international event.
