Open Forum launches initiative to promote patriotism, excellence

In its bid to reframe the narrative of Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large, Open Forum, a non-profit organization, has launched an ambitious initiative to promote the “Akwa Ibom Dream” and the “Nigerian Dream” of patriotism, integrity, and excellence.
The organization, which aims to replace the “Nigerian Factor” of corruption and mediocrity with a new narrative of progress and development, announced its plans on social media, stating that it will feature a series of documentaries, podcasts, and other content that will correct misinformation and manipulation aimed at destroying the state and country.
The first documentary, “The Story of Akwa Ibom (Episode 1): The 1938 Ibibio Six (6) Merchants of Light,” will premiere soon, and is expected to shed light on the rich history and cultural heritage of Akwa Ibom State.
According to Citizen Matthew Kofi Okono, also known as Citizen MKO, the founder of Open Forum, the organization is committed to contributing to positive change in the state and country. “We believe that with a critical mass of bright and brave individuals, we can build a better nation,” MKO said. “Our worst enemies are not the ignorant and simple, however cruel; our worst enemies are the intelligent and corrupt. Having been a survivor of the above class of ‘bandits’ in high places, I’m determined to intentionally contribute my quota to change the narrative to make governance more productive for the greatest majority.”
Open Forum is soliciting support from individuals and organizations to achieve its goals.
The organization needs basic podcast equipment, manpower, and resources for research. Donations can be made to the Open Forum Care for Humanity Foundation at Sterling Bank, Account Number 0098049856.
Open Forum’s motto is “People, Issues, Ideas, and Solutions… Wherever this flag is flown, we take care of our own.”
The organization’s mission is to create a platform for constructive engagement and nation-building, and its vision is to become a leading voice for positive change in Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria.
With its launch, Open Forum is poised to make a significant impact on the political and social landscape of Akwa Ibom State and beyond.
Its commitment to promoting patriotism, integrity, and excellence is a breath of fresh air in a country plagued by corruption and mediocrity.
