According to sources, the royal father was released on Sunday, May 26, 2024, and was immediately taken to a specialist hospital for urgent medical attention.

The Paramount Ruler was kidnapped from his palace in Mbo Local Government Area on May 19, 2024, during which his wife, Her Royal Majesty Obonganwan Hannah Okon Abang, was shot and injured.

She has been receiving treatment at a hospital since then.
