Osimhen Takes CAF Award to Alma Mater in Lagos

Nigerian football star, Victor Osimhen, recently paid a visit to his alma mater, Olusosun Primary School in Lagos, carrying his prestigious CAF award. This heartwarming gesture marked a triumphant return to his humble beginnings, where his football journey first took shape.

Osimhen’s visit to the school was a nostalgic one, as he had previously visited in June 2023. On this occasion, he brought his CAF 2023 Men’s Player of the Year award, won in December 2023, making him the first Nigerian to receive the honor since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999.

The striker’s return to his primary school was captured by photojournalist Sulaiman Adebayo, also known as Pooja, who shared the moment on (link unavailable) The caption read, “Victor Osimhen takes his CAF Award to Olusosun Primary School, Ojota, where it all started with street coaches and friends.”

During his visit, Osimhen revisited his former classroom, reunited with his old teacher, and took photos with the students, inspiring a new generation of young football enthusiasts.
