The Police Service Commission (PSC) has dismissed rumors circulating on social media that it has cancelled the final list of successful candidates for the 2022 police constable recruitment.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the PSC assured the public that the recruitment exercise was conducted in accordance with relevant guidelines and provisions of the law, and that the final list of successful candidates remains unchanged.

“The Commission is committed to transparency and merit in its recruitment process,” said Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations. “We assure the public that the recruitment exercise was conducted in accordance with relevant guidelines and provisions of the law, and that the final list of successful candidates remains unchanged.”

Ani warned disgruntled elements to desist from further attempts to undermine the recruitment exercise, stating that any such attempts will be met with appropriate action.

“We will continue to ensure that the recruitment process is fair, transparent, and merit-based, and will not be intimidated by false information and misinformation,” he said.

The PSC also assured successful candidates that the portal is now fully functional and accessible, and that they can log in and access all its features without any disruptions.

“We regret any inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption and assure that the platform has been fully secured,” Ani said.

The Commission reiterated its commitment to ensuring that federal character, gender sensitivity, and merit are the bedrock of its recruitment process.

“We are committed to giving the nation a merit-based and inclusive recruitment exercise,” Ani said. “We will not allow desperate groups to undermine our efforts.”

This comes after recent statement by the Commission that it remains the sole body saddled with the responsibility of recruiting police officers in the country.
