VIDEO: Senator Orji Kalu recants, says Senate election free, fair

Published

on

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has recanted his earlier position respecting the election of the President of the Senate which took place last month on June 13, 2023.

It could be recalled that Senator Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State had emerged the Senate President, defeating Senator Abdul’aziz Yari of Zamfara State.

Earlier before the election during the Senate valedictory session, Senator Kalu had cried openly, lamenting bitterly that Nigeria was not fair to him, destroyed all his business holdings, and to make matters worse, stolen the coveted senate president position which rightfully should have been given to him.

Two weeks later, however, while reacting to rumours that 22 senators want to defect to the opposition parties, Kalu  all of a sudden said that the senate election was “free and fair”.
