Nigerian Legislator Marries Off 105 Orphans of Banditry, Provides Business Startup Capital

A federal lawmaker from Zamfara State in Nigeria, Abdul Malik Zubairu, has married off 105 orphans whose parents were killed by bandits.

The ceremony took place in Bungudu town, Zamfara State, and was attended by prominent personalities from within and outside the state.

The lawmaker provided the couples with beds, bedding materials, and a dowry of 10.5 million Naira for the 105 brides.

Additionally, he gave each of the 105 groom’s N100,000 to start a business of their choice and N50,000 to each of the 105 grooms.

This noble act has brought hope and joy to the lives of these young people who have suffered greatly due to the activities of bandits in the region.

Zamfara State has in recent years been a hotbed of banditry and other forms of armed insecurity in Nigeria.
