Joint troops of 82 Division Nigerian Army has seized several weapons from a separatist group, the Biafra National Guards (BNG) in the South East.
The weapons seized by the Nigerian military, made up of mainly locally fabricated improvised artillery guns, include launchers for deploying explosive projectiles.

In a separate development, operatives of the Nigerian Police have neutralized combatants of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and their militant group, the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in a fierce encounter.
The encounter reportedly ensued during a clearance operation in the early hours of Monday, September 18, 2023, at Igboro Forest, between Arochukwu and Ohafia LGAs of Abia state.
The operatives busted the hideouts of the separatists and recovered several weapons.
