The Police Service Commission (PSC) in Nigeria has dismissed reports circulating on social media about the 2022 Recruitment exercise, describing them as “fictitious” and “phantom”.

The Commission clarified that it has not issued any statement on the review of the list of successful candidates or invited candidates to check their applications on a newly launched portal.

“The Commission has not issued any statement on the review of the list of successful candidates or invited candidates to check their applications on a newly launched portal,” said Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations, PSC. “We urge candidates to be patient and await our official statement on the recruitment exercise.”

Ani also condemned the use of his name in fake press statements, describing it as “unauthorized” and “mischievous”. “We dissociate ourselves from any statement attributed to us on social media. Our official statements are only issued through our website and authorized channels,” he warned.

The Commission urged candidates to be patient and await its official statement on the recruitment exercise, promising that accurate information will be communicated through official channels. “We understand the anxiety of candidates, but we assure them that we will keep them informed through our official channels,” Ani said.

The PSC also warned impostors to desist from undermining the exercise, stating that anyone caught perpetuating these fraudulent activities will face legal consequences. “We will not tolerate any attempt to undermine the recruitment exercise. Candidates should be wary of fraudsters and report any suspicious activities to us,” Ani cautioned.
