Labara Maku’s phone stolen by petty thief inside Appeal Court

A petty thief on Wednesday stole the mobile phone of former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku inside the Court of Appeal in Abuja.

Mr Maku was among the political bigwigs from Nasarawa state who was in the court in solidarity with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Mr David Ombugada.

Though, efforts to recover the phone was abortive as some of his associates searched for the missing phone without seeing it.

Meanwhile, Maku who became very disturbed over the embarrassing situation but maintained calmness left the court after the phone could not be recovered.

Recall that the Nasarawa governorship election tribunal had voided the election of governor Abdullahi Sule, ruling in favour of Ombugadu, the PDP candidate.

But Sule, who contested under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC), challenged the tribunal’s judgement.

A three-member panel of justices headed by Justice U. Onyemenam, reserved judgment, on Wednesday, and told parties involved that the date for judgment would be communicated.
